Minor Character

My favorite minor character in this book was Reba. Reba was very prominent in the story at times, but I really enjoyed seeing her transformation throughout the story. She came across as very hypocritical because she turned her back on people that she said she cared about, but by the end of the story, she was realizing what it really meant to show love for someone. When Finch found her scrubbing William Blott's stone, I was ecstatic inside because it showed that she finally got it. She finally understood why she was so wrong for treating him the way she had. Though I hated Reba many times throughout the story for her sneaky ways, it is wonderful that she has finally changed.

My Literacy Narrative

I think I did a good job at getting my ideas onto paper for this assignment. It wasn't difficult for me to write about this topic because my dad had a lot to do with how I came to enjoy reading. I liked having the rough draft due a week ahead of time because I felt very prepared when I sat down to make my final corrections. If I was to improve my work, I would probably work even more on the formatting of the piece. While revising my story, I found that some parts of each paragraph would be better suited in other places. To correct this, I did my best to make the necessary changes, but I'm sure I could've done even more to make a clear and concise piece.
To get ideas for this topic, I simply sat down in the library after class one day and started writing. I usually write this way. Words and ideas just seem to flow for me and I get a lot accomplished that way.
Also, I usually always just start to type on a computer rather than writing ideas or a draft out on paper. I can't write fast enough to get my ideas out on paper before I forget what my idea was to begin with.
I didn't use pictures in this story because it wasn't required, but if I had to choose any picture that would represent my story at its best, I would take a picture of my dad in his office surrounded by his thousands of books.
The in-class workshop in which we had someone else revise our piece was somewhat helpful. I didn't really change that much based on what my reader had to say, but the person's input and compliments about what I did well were really appreciated.
I don't really know what I would change if I could go back and do it all over again. I put a lot of time and effort into transitions and how well my story flowed together as it is, but I'm sure I could have improved even more in these areas.
